Sabbaticals and experiential holidays in Croatia

Stretched along Europe’s Adriatic coast, Croatia is renowned for its raw natural beauty and rich cultural history. The breath-taking coastline is home to over 1,000 islands. Immerse yourself in its crystal-clear waters, bask in the sun on its myriad beaches, and hope from island to picturesque island.

Inland is home to emerald lakes, lush valleys, plentiful olive groves and medieval towns. Historic cities with orange roofed buildings contrast beautifully against the gothic marble architecture and blue waters of the sea. These cities are filled with historic monuments and enchanting sights, making them a go-to spot for film locations. Hidden from the spotlight, fantastic vineyards abound. While award-winning, Croatian wines are still a secret kept largely within their own borders.

The beautiful mountains inland create a mesmerising juxtaposition of the coast and the Dinaric Alps. The peaks are the perfect place to explore Croatia’s whimsical forests and some of the world’s most striking karst landscapes.

Croatia is a concoction of natural wonders, historical treasures and cultural marvels that will leave any traveller in awe.

      Wildlife in Croatia

The variety of landscapes has given rise to Croatia’s vast biodiversity. From sea to land there are eight National Parks and 12 Nature Parks. Areas like the Velebit mountains and Kvarner islands are home to flora with more than 3,000 different species. The Adriatic is home to bottle nose dolphins and Mediterranean monk seals, while elusive predators such as wolves and lynxes roam remote forest regions. Brown bears, chamois and wild horses populate the Gorski Kotar region and Risnjak National Park. Birders will have plenty of opportunities for marvelling at the countless birds of prey, including golden eagles, peregrine falcons and kestrels.
